Where can I walk my dog near Swansea?
If you live in Swansea, you will know how lucky we are to have such a wide range of dog walking spots with beautiful views and dog friendly facilities, just a short drive away from each other!
But where to start?
I recently asked dog owners on Facebook where their favourie dog walks are in Swansea, and what makes them so great.
There are so may places to walk your dog around Swansea, I couldn't possibly write about them ALL at once, so I narrowned them down to the top 3!
Dog walk 1 - Clyne gardens
Whenever someone has spoken to me about Clyne gardens, it has always been positive!
Clyne gardens is a popular spot for both nature enthusiasts and dog walkers. This beautiful park offers a mix of formal gardens, woodland areas, and open spaces, making it an ideal location for a leisurely stroll with your dog.
For dog owners, it's important to note that there are on lead AND off lead spots, so keep an eye on signs to keep your dog on the lead.
Clyne gardens offers toilet facilities and picnic areas for visitors, making it easy for you to spend the whole day there!
Dog walk 2 - Singleton park
Singleton park is the largest urban park in Swansea offering expansive green spaces, botanical gardens, and a boating lake.
The park has large open spaces where your dog can run and play off lead. There are wooded sections with trails where dogs can enjoy a more natural environment - perfect for exploring and sniffing!
Facilities include restrooms, cafes, and picnic areas to accommodate visitors.
The park is easily accessible with car parking just outside of the main gates.
Dog walk 3 - Penllergare Valley Woods
Penllergare Valley Woods offers a wonderful experience for dog owners, combining natural beauty with ample recreational opportunities. It’s a place where both dogs and their owners can enjoy the outdoors, relax, and connect with nature.
The woods feature a network of trails that wind through forests, along rivers, and around lakes. These paths vary in difficulty and length, making them suitable for different fitness levels and preferences.
While some areas may require dogs to be on a lead, there are plenty of open spaces where dogs can run freely.
The visitor centre provides parking and includes a cafe where dog owners cal relax and enjoy a coffee at the start or end of the visit.
Is that the only dog walking spots in Swansea?
