Sarah Groves Dog Training: qualified dog trainer and puppy training specialist offering full puppy training help and support - giving you and your puppy a head start in learning and development!
If you've landed on this page, it's likely because you have been researching some of the best training options for you and your puppy moving forwards.
Puppy ownership isn't always an easy ride - it can come with a rollercoaster of emotions - from excitement, to worry, anxiety and guilt!
As a puppy training specialist who has worked with HUNDREDS of puppy owners within and around the Neath, Port Talbot and Swansea areas in the past decade, I know that some of the main struggles comes from knowing exactly what to do when problems arise, and how to teach and train the behaviours and skills that you need from your dog, so that you can live worry free for the next, potentially, 15 years!
This knowledge that i've gained from working with so many dog owners in the past decade has enabled me to know exactly what YOU need as a puppy owner, at each stage of your puppy training journey.
From this, I have created a puppy training program - The Puppy Solutions Program, which is tailor made to the individual puppy owner, so that you are able to gain full support over a period of time, get answers to your specific questions and learn how to teach the skills that your individual puppy needs to learn for your household.
What age is the best to start training my puppy?
Your puppy will be learning ALL of the time - with every move that they make through the day - so actually training is happening with every interaction that you make with them - whether you realise it at the time or not!
So, training can start from the point where puppy arrives home with you.
Some things you can start with straight away include:
Building good feelings about being in the crate/playpen/safe space
That outside is the place to go to the toilet
To recognise their own name
To be happy with being handled
To feel good or 'neutral' about noises that they will come across in the future
Puppies who get formal training help and start training at the age of 8 weeks old are WAY AHEAD in terms of development compared to puppies who gain formal training later down the line.
So it's never too soon!
If you've got a dog who is a little older - then that's ok too, because the old saying 'you can't teach a dog new tricks' is a total myth, so it's never too late to start training your dog either!
Why choose Sarah Groves Dog Taining for puppy training in Swansea, Neath, Port Talbot or surrounding areas?
As the dog training industry is completely unregulated, it's more important than EVER that dog owners choose a dog trainer who has a form of qualifications and learning under their belt.
This lack in regulation in the industry means that anyone can wake up one day and call themselves a dog trainer, look up a few youtube videos and do the job that I do! This is worldwide and not just exclusive to the UK.
Over the past decade, I have been dedicated to my studies and continuous development as a dog trainer and am a qualified and accredited dog trainer and puppy training instructor under the IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers)
I have spent hundreds of hours and thousands of pounds on my learning gaining upto date skills and knowledge through attending and completing courses, seminars, workshops,
Not only that, the training methods that I use will never compromise your pups mental or physical wellbeing. I use an ethocal, modern approach to training using reward based training methods - which is scientifically proven to be the most ethical and effective training method amongst animal training.
